Hours: 24-40 hours/ week

Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor and Quality Director

This position works to turn raw botanical material in to finished dietary supplements and extracts.You'll learn how extracts are made and be involved in every step of the production process. This is a highly physical position where you can expect to spend most of the day on your feet working with a team of technicians who are detail oriented, organized and who follow cleaning instructions to a T in order to meet current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform production of finished dietary supplements and botanical ingredients (extracts).  

  • Process botanical materials including fresh harvested medicinal plants and dried herbs from around the world.

  • Mix and blend botanical extracts together to create custom-compounded herbal formulas that are used by practitioners and other wellness professionals. 

  • Understand and comply with basic principles of FDA Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP)

  • Sanitation

    • Maintain a clean and safe production space by performing dishwashing, daily cleaning, and equipment sanitation duties

    • Log these tasks according to SOPs

  • Organize, pack, ship and fulfill finished products to customers, through multiple channels. 

  • Modify and generate labels using multiple computer softwares such as Adobe InDesign and Brother P-Touch. 

  • Perform the following manufacturing processes in a safe and precise manner, according to the SOPs:

    • Milling and Fresh Plant Processing

    • Extractions of botanical materials using multiple methods and equipment

    • Operating Filling, capping, bottling, and labeling equipment

    • Mixing, Compounding, and Blending formulations to exact specifications



  • Responsible and proactive team player willing to work with others in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Good communication and conflict-resolution skills. 

  • For extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking and performing specific physical duties for up to 8 hours/ day

  • Has manual dexterity and able to complete manual tasks in an efficient manner

  • Willing to complete procedures as prescribed in SOPs and notify supervisor of issues or deviations

  • Focused, invested with attention to detail

  • Lifting required up to 50lbs.

  • Push, pull, climb, reach, grasp repeatedly up to 8 hours.

  • Becoming quickly familiar with our diverse inventory.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace. 

  • Basic computing skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, & Adobe), basic applied math skills including algebra & unit conversions.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English. 

  • Ability to adhere to dress codes applicable to a manufacturing environment. 

 Preferred background and skills

  • Experience making herbal medicine or commensurate experience (ie, commercial food production, brewing, or product manufacturing)

  • Familiarity with botanical nomenclature, including latin binomials and plant parts as well as common and pin yin names.
